Bradwell Windmill is a fully functioning flour mill, not a commercial mill but a visitor attraction specifically for educational purpose. The mill welcomes groups from school and colleges.  

 

Key elements of the role

 

  • Welcome visitors to the Mill
  • Help with Landscaping
  • Interact with visitors
  • Present, instruct and inform general public about The Mill
  • Invigilation and security of The Mill
  • Provide an excellent visitor experience
  • Provide guided tours around the mill
  • Keep the Mill clean and tidy
  • Maintain Health and Safety

 

Commitment

At the Milton Keynes Museum we understand that people only have a limited amount of free time. Therefore any commitment, you can make will be gratefully received.

 

What we are looking for

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in talking with visitors
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Common sense
  • Attention to detail
  • An interest in the museum and its ongoing story
  • Works well under pressure
  • Team worker

 

Training and induction

  • Full induction to the site and history
  • Shadowing other volunteers
  • Ongoing training will be provided as and when necessary
  • Full training given on all aspect of The Mill
