Events Team

The museum has an ever-increasing events programme, from big multi-period events and our famous 1940s weekend, to small family events and children’s trail. The events team are in charge of running and stewarding the events. As well as coming up with new events for the calendar. As part of the events team you will help out in all areas of site as and when required.      


Key elements of the role:

  • Be a steward at the events
  • Complete Health and Safety/Risk Assessments
  • Help with administration relating to events
  • Work and cover multiple areas of site.
  • Set-up event arenas
  • Run pop-up stalls



At the Milton Keynes Museum we understand that people only have a limited amount of free time. Therefore any commitment, you can make will be gratefully received.


Our event programme takes place throughout the year, predominantly at weekends, school holidays and bank holidays.


What we are looking for

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Common sense
  • Attention to detail
  • An interest in the museum and its ongoing story
  • Works well under pressure
  • Team worker
  • The ability to adapt to different areas of site


Training and induction

  • Full induction to the site and history
  • Shadowing other volunteers
  • Ongoing training will be provide as and when necessary
  • Full training given on roles around site
