As well as keeping the Victorian Kitchen garden at its best, we have the wartime garden, a rockery and a nature trail to look after and develop. This role is ideal if you want to be close to nature.  

 

Key elements of the role

  • Keep the gardens and grounds clean and tidy
  • Plant seeds
  • Create a garden for visitors to enjoy
  • Maintain and improve nature trail.
  • Harvest produce from gardens for use in shop and catering

 

Commitment

At the Milton Keynes Museum we understand that people only have a limited amount of free time. Therefore any commitment, you can make will be gratefully received.

 

What we are looking for

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in talking with visitors
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Common sense
  • Attention to detail
  • An interest in the museum and its ongoing story
  • Team worker
  • Garden enthusiast

 

Training and induction

  • Full induction to the site and history
  • Shadowing other volunteers
  • Ongoing training will be provided as and when necessary
